Commissioned Work
This work was commissioned by St Mary's church, Bramall Lane, Sheffield.
There are 4 pieces, 8 ft tall by 11/2ft wide hanging on 4 pillars in the nave of the church.
I have used a combination of dying, screen-printing, transfer printing, layering and cut out, free machine embroidery and hand stitching.
The inspiration for each piece was issues that I think about recurrently or feel strongly about. I am applying messages from The Bible in today's modern context. Each of the 4 pieces also correspond to the 4 colours and themes of the ecclesiastical calendar.
